Hope: In life, we should live life with hope and optimism – with a certain degree of pragmatism. While steering away from being a perfectionist and an idealist, we should live life knowing that things are getting better and better
DE's Interaction with XIth & XIIth class Students Part-II
Just do what you do best.
You better live your best and act your best and think your best today, for today is the sure preparation for tomorrow and all the other tomorrows that follow.
Good people give happiness, The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God; It was never between you and them anyway.-
Believing in this legend, married women began the custom of praying for the well being of their husbands and sons on Maha Shivratri, while, unmarried women pray for a husband like Shiva, who is considered to be the ideal partner.
Goddess Parvati has a charming personality. Married women adore Parvati for her happy married life. Picture of Lord Shiva, Parvathi and their sons Ganesha and Kartikeya depicts an ideal example of family unity and love. The Divine Homemaker With Parvati by his side, Shiva became a family man. Inspired by her beauty, Shiva became the fountainhead of the arts, dance and drama. But he did not abandon his ways as a hermit and continued to meditate. His carefree attitude and his refusal to shoulder household responsibilities sometimes angered Parvati. But then she would come to terms with his unconventional ways and make peace. The consequent marital bliss between Shakti and Shiva ensured harmony between Matter and Spirit and brought stability and peace to the cosmos. Parvati thus became Ambika, Goddess of the household, marriage, motherhood and family.
Rama, the perfect avatar of the Supreme Protector Vishnu, has always been popular among the Hindu deities. Rama is the symbol of courtesy and virtue, a man of values and morals. Ramachandra is Maryada Purushottama, which means the perfect man. Lord Rama is considered to have taken birth on the earth to destroy the evil forces of the age.
Lord Rama, in the words of Swami Vivekananda, is "the embodiment of truth, of morality, the ideal son, the ideal husband, and above all, the ideal king". PRATAHKAAL UTHI KAI RAHUNATHA, matu pita guru navanhi matha
aayasu magi karahin Pur kaja , DEKHI CHARIT HARSHAI MUN RAJA
The above chaupai of Ramayana means that Lord Ramji was Maryada-Purushottam who used
* to bow at holy feet of His parents King Dashrathji -Maa Kaushalya and Guru Vasisthaji
* and more importantly , used to act in a manner that pleased His Ayodhites , King and citizens alike.
The Directorate of Education, Delhi has issued a circular directing all recognised schools in Delhi to appoint a medical officer and an assistant — a compounder or a dispenser — on part-time or full-time basis "as may be necessary".
Director Education Amit Singla said under Rule 38 of the Delhi School Education Rules there is a provision for appointing a medical officer "on such part-time or whole-time basis as may be necessary for looking after the health of the children of the school."
Rule 38 states that for girls' schools only woman doctors, compounders or nurses be appointed and in co-educational schools, "not less than one lady doctor or female nurse shall be appointed".
The circular quotes an order issued by the Delhi High Court on August 8, 2012, stating, Rule 38 provides for the schools to have a medical officer and the Medical Crisis Management Committee has also emphasised on this. "Appropriate steps would be for the schools to have such medical practitioners along with paramedic in terms of the Rules," the court order had said. The court had given six months for implementing the order.
The Directorate has given schools a month to comply with the order. "Non-compliance will be taken very seriously and just a fine will not suffice," Singla said. He said the move is meant to ensure that schools are ready to deal with any sort of "medical emergencies".Iqbal : New Delhi, Tue Feb 12 2013,

A Happy Teachers day in India since it is an official holiday in this country! In a report from the National Academy of Education, the researchers found that, “All else being equal, the teacher turnover rate is higher in schools with lower salaries and poorer working conditions.”
The researchers also write that teacher retention is a huge concern for schools because teachers with experience are better teachers. They write that quality teaching isn’t just about a teacher’s knowledge base or teaching techniques: it’s also abo• Teacher feels that his/her salary is fair for the work done.
• Teacher has enough time for planning and grading.
• School does not have problems with threats to teachers or staff by students.
• School does not have problems with disorderly student behavior.
• Teacher is treated as a professional by community.
• Teacher has adequate involvement in team building and problem-solving.
• Teacher has adequate ability to influence policies that affect him/her.
• Teacher has adequate time for classroom instruction.
What does this mean for us in the classroom? Just as students need a nurturing environment where they have a voice, feel safe, and have respect, so too, do teachers.
Often we talk about what’s best for students without regard to what’s best for teachers. These two goals aren’t mutually exclusive. Benefiting teachers and making them happy to come to work ultimately benefits the students, too. The researchers at the National Academy of Education concluded that high quality teachers need a higher social status, monetary incentives to stay in the field, good working conditions, and opportunities for meaningful professional development. Students, of course, need high quality teachers.
In a time when schools are slashing budgets and benefits, how can we keep morale up? We can support one another. According to the Metlife survey, new teachers are three times as likely to leave the profession if they feel like their colleagues don’t support them. We might be rushing to the copier before the first bell or setting up a lab, but making time for our fellow teachers is a change we can make today. We might not be able to solve our district’s budget crisis, but we can certainly improve the culture in our corner of the building.ut the teaching environment. Happy teachers are better teachers.

In India teachers were respected since the inspection of teaching when the teachers were called ‘Guru’ and now this term have transformed into ‘Sir’ or ‘Madam’ but the role of teachers has remained the same. Teachers were continued a guiding torch in the society and will remain so in the future too. To-day, the 5thSeptember, the teachers’ day in India, the day is celebrated in different way to express the gratitude towards teachers in India. The observance of the day is a tribute to the dedication and devotion of the teachers all year long just to build up in education a child in India. The teachers are the backbone of the nation as they are acting as foundation for creating responsible citizens and good human beings.
The Origin of Teachers’ Day in India:
It was due the sacrifice and dedication of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the first Vice-President and the second President of India, who was an ardent supporter of mass education and one of the greatest scholars and teachers of all times. Students, friends and teachers asked him for his permission to celebrate his birthday; he was agreed to do so on the condition that the day would be observed as Teachers’ day instead of his birthday, to honor the efforts of teachers across the country, the teachers who had made our life much more knowledgeable and serving as our beacons of light. Henceforth, India has been celebrating Teachers’ Day on 5thSeptember, since 1962.
The Occasion of Celebration:
The day was observed by the Indians in the schools, in different centers of importance by the performance of lectures, dramas, dance performances, sports, songs and various other programs to entertain their teachers. The specialty of the day is that students of senior classes dress up like teachers and make a show of enjoyment. It was a day of performance to provide for a healthy interaction between teachers and students as well and exchange gifts. Apart from honoring all the teachers, the Indians remember the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a philosopher, a teacher par excellence, a great educationist, who contributed the best towards Indian education system, who believed that “teachers should be the best minds in the country”.

To provide opportunities for genuine sense of achievement . A Curriculum for Excellence challenges us to think differently about the curriculum. It encourages those in education to plan and act in new ways. It also poses challenges for learning and the teacher.
to help individual children change their perceptions and attitudes. Despite their difficulties and behaviour problems, these pupils interacted positively and were engaged in meaningful tasks and activities. Some children talked about difficult feelings during some of these sessions. They also gave positive feedback about the support they had received.School is a special place. The ethos and environment of a school play a significant part in supporting and promoting healing and restorative work. It is more than just an educational establishment. It also has an important social function where children learn about citizenship, social values and relationships, through teaching and learning as well as through assimilation. There are beacon schools and a great deal of guidanceThe work to bring about change in troubled children is demanding and exhaustive and often requires repetitive processes in the healing journey. Minimising the barriers to learning is crucial. These children are often isolated, unhappy, angry, unable to learn, unable to engage and stunted in their emotional development. My starting point for these children is often to create magic moments and happy learning experiences because happy feelings increase resilience. We would recall these moments in a drawing, ‘A Festival of Magic Moments’, where each star or constellation represented a special time. Another effective communicative tool was the use of stories like parables. Stories help us to make sense of life, learn values and enable us to make connections with truths.

The birthday of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, an eminent educationist and a great leader of India’s freedom struggle, on 11th November of every year as National Education Day without declaring any holiday on that day.Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be the chief guest at the National Education Day function being celebrated on November 11.As India's Education Minister, .He was the first to raise the issue of the National System of Education which is today the bed-rock of the National Policy on Education (1986) updated in 1992. The concept implies that, upto a given level, all students, irrespective of caste, creed, location or sex have access to education of a comparable quality. All educational programmes, he said, must be carried out in strict conformity with secular values and constitutional framework. He stood for a common educational structure of 10+2+3 throughout India. If Maulana Azad were alive today he would have been the happiest to see the Right to Free Education Bill getting cabinet approval for the approval of Parliament. The Right to Education Bill seeks to make free and compulsory education a fundamental right. The wealth of the nation, according to Maulana Azad, was not in the country’s banks but in primary schools. The Maulana was also a great votary of the concept of Neighbourhood schools and the Common School System.

In education, we
need to understand, carefully select, and use combinations of
teaching practices that together increase the probability of
helping students learn, knowing that these practices may not
work in all classrooms at all times.
The strongest possibility of improving student learning
emerges where schools implement multiple changes in the
teaching and learning activities affecting the daily life of students. For example,if the aim is to improve students’scientific
problem-solving skills, the school might plan to introduce
training for teachers in (1) use of the learning cycle approach;
(2) use of computer simulations;and (3) systemic approaches
to problem solving. To simultaneously plan for the training
and other provisions needed to sustain all three of these
changes would be no small undertaking, but would hold great
promise for improving the quality of student problemsolving
